The BIPOC Committee
seeks to create spaces for inclusion, involvement, and engagement for BIPOC students in the English Department. The BIPOC committee believes that creating spaces with BIPOC students in mind differs from merely welcoming them in. For this reason, we work to ensure that the ESU and its activities are equitable in all areas, including considering the racial and cultural backgrounds of its diverse membership.
Create spaces for engagement and opportunity within the ESU specifically with BIPOC students in mind
Help the ESU steer its events, statements, and outlook with BIPOC students in mind
Ensure that these efforts are sustainable and remain core to the ESU
Membership: The BIPOC Committee aims for a 3–5 person membership.
