The Sustainability Committee

works to ensure that ESU events and activities are carried out sustainably and that the ESU is acknowledging Indigenous rights, sovereignty, and stewardship of the land. We also seek to uphold the ESU mandate by supporting environmental advocacy efforts on campus and keeping English students informed on relevant environmental issues.

Goals:

  • Listen to and amplify Indigenous voices on campus

  • Maintain relationships with environmental groups on campus such as the Climate Coalition and Ban the Bottle

  • Provide recommendations for making ESU events and activities more sustainable

  • Help keep English students informed on relevant environmental issues and encourage them to get involved with environmental advocacy on campus

Membership: The Sustainability Committee aims for a 3–5 person membership.
